The Steyning Bookshop as the name suggests is Steyning’s local independent bookshop. The shop is the perfect location for selling books, situated inside a large white and visually appealing building that with a delightful window display (see below) to draw book lovers indoors.

Inside readers will find lovely wooden bookshelves filled to burst with great readers. Alongside these are themed tables of books including; new in paperbacks, newly released hardbacks and staff reads (which I always like to see in indie bookshops because it reflects the characters of the staff and gives you recommendations from people who with great knowledge of books.)

The children’s section of the shop is also great to look at as well as browse, with colourful, life-size cardboard cut-outs of some favourite children’s literary characters, including; Jacqueline Wilson’s Tracy Beaker and Wally from the Where’s Wally books – who for once wasn’t hiding.

When I visited, there was also a brilliant book-themed cake behind the till – presumably for one of the staff member’s birthday.

I would definitely visit this bookshop again because not only is it lovely to look at inside and out, but they have a great collection of books and friendly staff.
