Bookmarks bookshop on Bloomsbury Street in London describes itself as a ‘socialist bookshop’. The shop offers a range of socialist books including those on feminism, revolution, and marxism. The also have a range of books on philosophy, history, and politics. The shop stocks authors including; Orwell and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and covers a wide array topics including; Bob Marley, The Miner’s Strikes, WW1 and LGBT.
A small selection of books can be purchased for a reduced price on their ‘sale’ bookshelf, where you can pick up and take home a book for only £1.
You will also find a small section of children’s books, which features a mixture of traditional children’s literature alongside books on socialist topics depicted in the style of a children’s book. These ‘different’ children’s titles include; A is for Activist and It’s Okay to be Different.
Finally Bookmarks also publish books through their own publishing house ‘Bookmark Publications’, theses titles can be found on their very own shelf (as shown in the image below.)
