Situated just across the road from the iconic Ironbridge, in Shropshire, is a small row of shops including; the Ironbridge Bookshop, which sells second-hand books.
Although the shop is not particularly large, it is absolutely filled to bursting point with books, which are piled from floor to ceiling. Despite this slightly messy looking display, the books are organised alphabetically by author and it is therefore fairly easy to find books that you are looking for.
Up a small flight of stairs is also the children’s section and a large section of old second-hand Penguin Classics. Although this upstairs area is small, it still holds a lot of books, and the collection of penguin classics is enough to make any worm clap with joy.
The books were nearly all in very good condition, which always makes me happy to see. Unfortunately, because the area is a very busy, tourist spot the prices of the books are a little higher than you would expect for second-hand books. Despite this, the shop is still worth a quick visit if you’re sight-seeing at Ironbridge.
