In London’s lovely Covent Garden is Stanfords Bookshop. The shop which is dedicated mostly to maps and travel books, has one other branch closer to home, in Bristol. Our recent visit to London however allowed us to visit this London branch.

A window display of notepads caught our eye and we went in to buy. As a writer and student journalist myself I have always loved a nice notepad, with a pretty cover and nice thick, paper pages. Much like books and bookmarks I have always thought you can never have too many writing pads.

Although we had only come in for notebooks, we were in a bookshop so surprise, surprise, we were drawn to the shelves of books. In particular a short book by George Orwell called Why I write.

With a nice collection of books, this is a lovely bookshop and I would quite like to visit the Bristol branch of Stanfords sometime in the future.
