Not only is this funny and easy to read, but it appeals to the bookworm in us all, by laughing at those who don’t read or who say silly things. A collection of customer and bookseller interactions from several bookshops, this book is basically just a list of stupid and sometimes completely ridiculous things people say.
A hilarious, but sigh-inducing read, that will make you actually doubt the intelligence of some people, particularly those who say things such as “Do you have any books by Jane Eyre” and “Did Beatrix Potter ever write a book about dinosaurs?”.
Split up into sections for each book shop, and with each interaction carefully laid out and labeled with customer and bookseller and in some cases customer’s daughter etc., this book is very easy to pick up and put down whenever you want a quick laugh or something short to read.
If you’ve ever wondered what working in a bookshop is like, this book would make a great and amusing read.
