Numbers is a unique and interesting book in which the main character, Jem has a secret gift. Whenever she meets someone new, a number comes into her head, the number, is the day they’ll die.
Although set in present day, Numbers and the other books in the trilogy look into the future and what could be ahead for us. The books is great for teenagers and young adults who want to read more about real life issues, which Rachel Ward successfully incorporates with the imaginative storyline. The book tackles one main life truth, everyone will die eventually, this message tells us we need to live everyday to its fullest in case it is our last.
The characters and the plot are extremely well thought out and the relationships between characters and relatable.
A thrilling and gripping novel that will definitely make you want to read the other books in the trilogy (The Chaos and Infinity)
I read this book in 2009 when I was at school and it was great to read something so good from a local author to my area. I would definitely recommend the whole Numbers trilogy to teenagers and young adults.
